Boat Explosion at Haven Harbour

On Friday, June 21st, 2024 at approximately 19:28 the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company and mutual aid agencies were dispatched for a boat fire at 20880 Rock Hall Ave, Haven Harbour Marina. Ambulance 7 was the first unit to arrive on the scene and reported lite smoke coming from the vessel which was docked in a slip at the marina. Captain 7 arrived on the scene, advised dispatch that the fire had been extinguished and advised dispatch to hold the incident to Engine 72. Good samaritans from the Marina used fire extinguishers and assisted with extinguishing the fire before fire personnel arrived on the scene. One occupant of the vessel sustained minor injuries however refused transport and was released at the scene. The incident was placed under control at 19:39 and units were released. The Department of Natural Resources Police will be investigating the incident.
