Dwelling Fire on Rock Hall's Main Street

On Monday, April 22, 2019 at approximately 07:45 the Rock Hall Volunteer Company was dispatched for a dwelling fire at 6044 Main Street. Engine 72 was the first unit to arrive on the scene and found smoke and flames visible coming from the first floor. Firefighters conducted an interior attack and brought the blaze under control within 30 minutes. There were no injuries reported, firefighters were able to save the dog who was initially trapped and unable to escape on its own. The Maryland State Fire Marshal's office conducted an investigation and determined that the cause of the fire was electrical. The Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company wishes to thank all the mutual aid agencies that assisted with the early morning fire. Approximately 40 firefighters and other personnel responded and assisted at the scene.
