RHVFC responds to Boat Fire

On Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at approximately 10:08 AM, the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for a BOAT FIRE at 20786 Rock Hall Ave, Osprey Point Marina. Units arrived on scene to find a 55ft Prestige Yacht fully engulfed. The boat was located at the end of Letter “A” dock. Employees from the marina quickly moved other yachts away from the incident to prevent any other yachts from being involved. One other boat sustained minor damage. Multiple mutual aid agencies and fire/rescue boats responded and assisted, the situation was placed under control at 11:35 AM. No injuries were reported. DNR/Coast Guard and Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office responded and will investigate the cause of the fire. The Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company and the Town of Rock Hall wishes to thank all those who responded and assisted with this incident.
